I come from a long line of creative women; my mother, grandmother and great-grandmother all designed and made their own beautiful clothes. Lots of my earliest memories involve fabrics – Indian silks, Harris tweeds and Liberty prints, with the sound of whirring sewing machines in the background.

In 2002 I founded Asquith, combining my love of fabrics and design with two other passions: yoga and Pilates. From the very beginning it was crucial to me that our activewear was ethically made in the best quality, eco-friendly fabrics that were as soft as they were hardwearing. I also wanted the designs to work as well on the mat as they do off, so women could feel good wearing them wherever they went: the school run, the beach, on a plane, as loungewear, as well as in the studio.

I had no idea at the time that yoga and Pilates would become so popular. It’s wonderful to see how much more aware of our health and wellbeing we’ve become.

At Asquith we live and breathe positivity, as we believe that is the secret to a happy life. Yes, our activewear is ethical and eco-friendly and always will be, but we are also passionate about healthy lifestyles, clean eating, helping others and a gentle, ethical way of living – a holistic approach. If you are too, we would love you to join our community of likeminded women – browse our blog, follow us on our social sites, or sign up to our newsletter to keep up-to-date with all the latest news and trends from us and from around the world.

My greatest ambition is that you feel amazing wearing our clothes; they have been made in the most positive way I can find and with great love!
